Southern GP Training

Southern GP Training (SGPT) is a regional training provider that is funded by General Practice Education and Training (GPET) to deliver the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program. The AGPT program is a world-class vocational training program for medical graduates wishing to pursue a career in general practice.

SGPT was formed in 2010 through the merger of Greater Green Triangle and getGP. We provide innovative training opportunities with flexibility to tailor individual training programs to meet the identified learning needs and interests of registrars and Prevocational General Practice Placements Program (PGPPP) doctors.

The diversity of the Eastern and Western Regions of our organisation provides general practice registrars and PGPPP doctors with rich and varied professional and personal experiences. We pride ourselves on the program, which provides opportunities in procedural skills training. Training posts are available in anaesthetics, emergency medicine, surgery, procedural paediatrics and levels B and C obstetrics.

The National Rural Health Students' Network (NRHSN) provides a voice for students who are passionate about improving health outcomes for rural and remote Australians.

It has more than 9000 members who belong to 29 Rural Health Clubs at universities throughout the nation. They include students from medical, nursing and allied health courses.

The NRHSN offers multi-disciplinary networking, professional development and opportunities to raise community awareness of health issues.
