- 21st Matthew Campbell Memorial Evening
- Rotunda (46 Exhibition Walk), Lecture Theatre 4, Monash University Clayton Campus
- Time: 6.00pm - 9pm.
- Catering: Refreshments provided

Join us for a contemporary perspective of the real issues facing Indigenous Health, generating real discussion and, hopefully, real change.

Hope to see you all there! #wildfire2015 #beinspired

Matthew Campbell was a second year medical student with a great passion for Indigenous Health, an area he felt was neglected. In order to correct this during the August of 1994 he organised an Indigenous Health Seminar, which was an enormous success. Tragically, Matthew passed away in a car accident the following weekend. Since then Wildfire, Monash Universities Rural Health Club has organised the Matthew Campbell Memorial Evening in his memory.

In 2015, we continue his legacy at the 21st annual Matthew Campbell Memorial Evening, with the focus of the night being based around the ‘foundations’ of health and wellbeing.

All too often health professionals, especially doctors, focus solely on the presence or absence of medical illness. Many fail to take into account the idea that a person’s health is formed by many different foundations and that these elements must be considered when striving for healthy outcomes.

These factors are especially relevant when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. A host of national experts with real front-line experience are aiming to educate and inspire students to think about how a multitude of geographical, social and political factors determine the health outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
