Cotton Industry Medical Scholarship 2014

This is a scholarship of $5,000 per year for three years and two weeks of placement per year in a NSW Cotton Growing Region (usually Moree) during the university holidays. This is an excellent opportunity to recieve finicial support and have exciting rural and medical experiences in a unique area.

Paddle Prize - Writing & Art Competition

Attention ALL creative Allied Health, Nursing and Medical Students!

WILDFIRE's "Paddle Prize" Indigenous Health Competition is now calling for ALL entries in the fields of creative writing, poetry, artwork or otherwise with a $400 cash prize.

The Paddle Prize is an annual competition based around creative pieces showcasing Indigenous health, the entry can be an essay, poem, poster, artwork or any area you are passionate about!

THEME: “Indigenous Wellbeing: Solutions and Success”

DATE: Entries are due by 9pm Friday the 18th of April

RESTRICTIONS: 700 word limit on written pieces.

PRIZE: $400

2014 Give Them Wings Scholarships

The 2014 Give Them Wings scholarships for first year allied health and nursing students is now open giving students from country Victoria a flying start at university. Two nursing and two allied health scholarships will be awarded in 2014.

Royal Flying Doctors Health Check-in, Warragul

Are you available for a day over 27-30th March between 9:30am-4pm and able to get to Warragul?

The Royal Flying Doctors are looking for volunteers to take blood pressure, measure blood glucose, and calculate BMI and diabetes risk. A $15 lunch allowance is provided for all volunteers

New ELECTIVE opportunity for FINAL YEARS

This placement comprises working at a clinic as well as outstation clinic. It threatens to expose students to the complex health and social needs of the area’s indigenous people and the challenges of rural and remote medicine. An opportunity not to be missed, or taken lightly!
